Compassion is felt

Kirsten Clacey Avatar

An invitation:

We appreciate that some people love these kinds of frameworks and others have mixed feelings. That is absolutely ok. We’ll be using the tool as a springboard for conversations, what you take away is up to you.

An obligation:

This is a well-researched framework and will serve as the foundation for our discussion. We know that everyone will gain valuable insights from it and look forward to teaching you.

Learning with:

We’re passionate about this topic and invite you to bring your wisdom around it. We look forward to learning with you.

Teaching to:

We’ve been teaching this topic for the last 20 years. We can’t wait to share our insights with you.

Compassion is felt as an invitation rather than an obligation, a learning with rather than a teaching to.

Often it’s not what we’re doing, but who we’re being, that does the work.

Amazing how the tone changes depending on the words! This post really made me think.
