What if you felt complete as you are before your workday even started?
For many, 5pm is the check-in: how much of the to-do list got done? You’re complete based on what was produced. And when you don’t get there, you feel the opposite and wonder: did I do enough?
It’s a setup.
Too much relies on what’s outside your control. The day will go where it will, up, down, or sideways. Your completeness doesn’t have to be tied to it.
You are complete already. The moment you wake up you are enough.
Start your day from there.
And if that doesn’t ring true for you, what is needed for you to know that?
For some it’s waking up earlier for some solitude, for others it’s granting themselves more sleep. Some start with yin yoga, others with a 5k run, or reading a novel, or writing in a journal, or remembering a fond moment with a relative that’s passed, or meditation, prayer, a walk in nature, time with kids, a favorite song blasted on a commute, breathwork, venting to a friend, walking your dog, grooming yourself, making yourself a delicious breakfast, or starting the day with the most fun or fulfilling project on your plate.
Completeness can be defined on your own terms. You can be there by 8am.
This isn’t selfish, because everything you do afterwards will be infused with the energy of your completeness.
You will create as a gift, because everything after you’re complete becomes a bonus to you and the world.
